A LITTLE ABOUT ME

Hi there, I'm Sasha

I am a birth & postpartum doula. I help women and their partners navigate the amazing world of pregnancy, labour, birth and parenthood. After many years working with new mums as a nanny I was consistently seeing the need and desire for more specific and continual birth and postpartum support. I have always been maternal and highly driven to protect those around me, doula work brings together these qualities with my passion for sisterhood and all things birth.

In our culture birth is sadly not looked upon as a rite of passage or a sacred event and instead is looked upon as a medical condition, which in turn has created a lack of trust in the ability of a birthing women’s body. Having women birth in hospitals also means that the event of birth has become somewhat of a hidden phenomenon, this lack of exposure has resulted in many women being fearful of birth, at a time when women should be feeling excited and empowered.

My mission is to help as many women as I can to have positive birth experiences and walk into motherhood trusting their instincts and knowing they are capable and strong both physically and mentally. I want to normalise birth for all people, women, men and children. After all birth is a normal physiological event that happens all over the world. Every day 385 000 babies are born world wide!

I would love to hear more about you, your family and why you are seeking out the support of a doula. I support a variety of family structures and am 100% inclusive of all people. If you have any questions or think I could be the right support person for you connect with me here. I’m always happy to chat and organise a commitment free meet up or video call.

Looking forward to hearing from you,

Sasha
